A favorite local getaway at dusk and dawn, Four Mile Beach features a long stretch of golden sand gently lapped by clear water and lined with swaying palms. Feel the touch of a cool breeze while strolling with the locals along the beach that curves softly at its ends. Tourists mostly spend their time swimming, tanning, or dozing off under the endless row of palm trees. The unspoiled beach also offers plenty of entertainment for water-sports enthusiasts, such as kitesurfing, stand-up paddling, kayaking, and parasailing. Very long but covered with leaves, branches etc. Sand not too well coloured but the view of the bay is nice. Stick to Bondi or Surfers for a nicer beach! more »

We have been to four mile Beach a couple of times previous it was always clean and we could walk along the sand in bear feet with no issues thus time it was dirty and unkempt. more »

IS THAT ALL? A four mile PARADOX that oscillates between surprisingly ordinary & breathtaking. My first glimpse was when I made my way onto the sand from the main city street & initially disappointed. The tide was out, the sand & water were not pristine, but a nice array of palms followed the entire curvature of the coast. BUT, it grows on you, the majesty & splendour begins to slowly appear & the appeal also grows. The scenario is enhanced when the tide comes in & the large body of water creates a magnificent vista. My partner & I even visited at night, though initially she was reluctant re potential crocodiles, the view was worth the time & effort as the cool sea breeze washed over us. We were there a week, the town & the beach permeates your senses to the point where you love both & reluctant to leave. Visit Four Mile beach as often as you can & you will soon appreciate & love the sheer beauty of this wonderful part of our country. Highly recommend, only swim by the nets or where officials patrol & provide security. Cheers.
