Aharen Beach, Tokashiki-son

#1 of 37 in Outdoors in Shimajiri-gun
The sweeping 800 m (2,625 ft) curve of Aharen Beach features expressive rocky outcrops and islets, bestowing travelers with an unspoiled and peaceful portion of coast. Perched on a tropical latitude, the beach offers excellent snorkeling and scuba diving, with abundant corals and tropical fish observable just yards from the shoreline, and rental equipment available nearby. During the high season (July through September), lifeguards stationed here supervise the waters. Rent a kayak or jet-ski to explore the bay, but expect it to be fairly busy around this time. Put Aharen Beach on your schedule, and learn what else deserves a visit by using our Tokashiki-son trip builder.

  • One of the most beautiful beaches I've ever been in Okinawa. White sand and the water is incredible blue.
  • One of the best beaches in Japan. Near the water's edge there are fragments of coral, but if you go a little deeper, the bottom is sandy. Soft wave. The water is unusually blue.
