Ruin · Park
Explore Thailand's ancient history at Sukhothai Historical Park, the capital of the first Kingdom of Siam and now a World Heritage Site. With well-preserved palace buildings, impressive Buddha figures, and evocative ruined temples, the park represents one of the major places to visit in Thailand. The large town's layout and structures, along with the nature that surrounds, make this an extremely photogenic place, as well as a historically rich one. Note that the attraction gets crowded at peak hours; you can zoom past the masses on a rented bicycle. Using our custom trip planner, Sukhothai attractions like Sukhothai Historical Park can form part of a personalized travel itinerary.

  • Beautiful experience we had here. You can hire a Tuk Tuk to show you around for Thb200.00 and the only comment or a reminder I have is, I am a foreigner working in Thailand for over 25 years and a...  more »
  • Got here through Gate One Travel. It was 10 baht to bring a bicycle into the park to ride around. It was 30 baht (about a US dollar) to rent the bike to ride in the park, very reasonable. My son and I rode bikes while the rest of our family rode in the tram with the tour guide (TIM). She was very good and very knowledgeable. My family really liked her. We rode the entire park where there were remnants of statues of Buddha and temple kiosks. It was very interesting. The area was very well kept and laid out over a lot of ground. Many photo ops here. Riding the bikes gave us the freedom to go anywhere at our own leisure. There is a pretty large market with souvenier shops with lots of items. There were massage shops too.
  • It is one of the must see in Thailand a bit less touristic but really a great location. It is a big park with ruins scattered around, we have rented bikes and cycled for two hours across it. There are some more interesting places north, west and south from the main park you can either cycle or drive there.
