A gateway to the island, Hakodate has gained a reputation for its waterfront attractions, its proximity to some of the island's most popular natural sites, and its seafood.
Kick off your visit on the 10th (Thu): look for gifts at Kanemori Red Brick Warehouse, take a stroll through Motomachi, get into the urban bustle at Hakodate Community Design Center, then take in the awesome beauty at Mount Hakodate, and finally browse the different shops at Hakodate Meiji-kan. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 11th (Fri): browse the eclectic array of goods at Ganso Hakodate Asaichi, test the waters at a local thermal spa, then try to win big at Hakodate Horse Racetrack, then take in panoramic vistas at Goryokaku Tower, and finally let little ones run wild at Miharashi Park (Kosetsuen).

Singapore, Singapore to Hakodate is an approximately 12-hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and train. Traveling from Singapore to Hakodate, you'll lose 1 hour due to the time zone difference. In September, Hakodate is little chillier than Singapore - with highs of 26°C and lows of 18°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 11th (Fri) early enough to take a train to Noboribetsu.

Traveling from Noboribetsu in September, plan for little chillier nights in Furano, with lows around 14°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 14th (Mon) early enough to catch the train to Asahikawa.
