Eternal City

Aptly nicknamed the Eternal City, Rome is the birthplace of the Roman Empire, one of the world's greatest civilizations ever.
Explore hidden gems such as Villa d'Este and Cascata delle Marmore. Colosseum and Vatican Museums are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Get out of town with these interesting Rome side-trips: Parco Archeologico di Ostia Antica (in Ostia Antica), Orvieto (Pozzo di San Patrizio & Duomo di Orvieto) and Villa Adriana (in Tivoli). There's lots more to do: admire the landmark architecture of Villa Borghese, take an in-depth tour of Le Domus Romane di Palazzo Valentini, appreciate the extensive heritage of Piazza Navona, and take in the architecture and atmosphere at Pantheon.
