Eternal City

Aptly nicknamed the Eternal City, Rome is the birthplace of the Roman Empire, one of the world's greatest civilizations ever.
Explore hidden gems such as Villa d'Este and Parco Archeologico di Ostia Antica. Colosseum and Vatican Museums are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Get out of town with these interesting Rome side-trips: Cascata delle Marmore (in Marmore), Orvieto (Pozzo di San Patrizio & Duomo di Orvieto) and Villa Adriana (in Tivoli). There's lots more to do: steep yourself in history at St. Peter's Basilica, delve into the distant past at Pantheon, take in the spiritual surroundings of Basilica di Santa Rita, and explore the galleries of Le Domus Romane di Palazzo Valentini.

If you are flying in from Brazil, the closest major aiports are Leonardo da Vinci–Fiumicino Airport, Ciampino–G. B. Pastine International Airport and Perugia San Francesco d'Assisi – Umbria International Airport. In July in Rome, expect temperatures between 37°C during the day and 24°C at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 1st (Wed) to allow time to travel back home.
