Venture out of the city with trips to Mt. Yoshino (in Yoshino-cho), Iwakura Valley (in Iga) and Ishitera Tea Plantation (in Wazuka-cho). You can take a train from Nara to Kyoto in an hour. Other options are to drive; or do a combination of train and subway. Traveling from Nara in March, expect slightly colder with lows of 40°F in Kyoto. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 18th (Wed) early enough to take a train to Himeji.
