Aptly nicknamed the Eternal City, Rome is the birthplace of the Roman Empire, one of the world's greatest civilizations ever.
Step out of the city life by going to Albaneto and Acqua e Sale - Stabilimento Balneare. Cattedrale di Santa Maria Assunta Spoleto and Basilica Papale San Paolo fuori le Mura are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Venture out of the city with trips to Cascata delle Marmore (in Marmore), Riserva Naturale Monte Velino (in Magliano de' Marsi) and Orvieto (Duomo di Orvieto & Pozzo di San Patrizio). There's much more to do: take in the architecture and atmosphere at Santa Maria Sopra Minerva, get outside with Sabbianera Super Beach, admire the natural beauty at Villa d'Este, and contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Abbey of St. Paul Outside the Walls.
