You might consider the city of Budapest, divided by the Danube River into two distinctive cities--Buda and Pest--to be essentially one large World Heritage Site.
You'll visit kid-friendly attractions like Hungarian Parliament Building and St. Stephen's Basilica (Szent Istvan Bazilika). There's still lots to do: don't miss a visit to Fisherman's Bastion, take in the spiritual surroundings of Dohány Street Synagogue, witness a stunning natural landmark at Palatinus Strandfürdő, and take in the views from Szechenyi Lanchid.
