Ishigaki

Ishigaki, the most populous island in the chain, features the country's southernmost city and acts as a transport hub for exploring the landmasses that surround.
Cape Hirakubozaki and Ishigaki Yaima Village are good opportunities to explore the local culture. We've included these beaches for you: Yonehara Beach and Fusaki Beach. Step out of Ishigaki to go to Kuro-shima and see Nakamoto Beach, which is approximately 1h 10 min away. There's still lots to do: add some adventure to your tour with a kayaking and canoeing tour, discover the deep blue sea with a scuba or snorkeling tour, enjoy the sand and surf at Sukuji Beach, and contemplate the waterfront views at Kabira Bay.

Naha, the capital of Okinawa, has deep roots: Stone Age relics have been found in the city, and through the Middle Ages it rose in importance in the Ryukyu Kingdom.
Give yourself a bit of retail therapy at Onna Station Nakayukui Market and Umanchu Market. Visit Sefa-Utaki and Former Japanese Navy Underground Headquarters for their historical value. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Naha: Itoman (The Tower of Himeyuri & Okinawa Peace Memorial Park), Nishibama Beach (in Zamami-son) and Tokashiki-son (Aharen Beach & Tokashiku Beach). Kyoto

The national capital for over a thousand years, Kyoto retains much of the charm of old Japan, boasting numerous temples and shrines that seem completely untouched by the modern world.
Get a sense of the local culture at Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine and Osaka Castle. Explore hidden gems such as Heian Shrine and Yasaka Shrine. Take a break from Kyoto with a short trip to Dotombori District in Dotombori, about 1h 10 min away. Fly from Naha to Kyoto in 5.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of ferry and train; or do a combination of bus, ferry, and train. Traveling from Naha in May, plan for slightly colder nights in Kyoto, with lows around 17°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 16th (Tue) so you can travel to Tokyo.
