Eternal City

Aptly nicknamed the Eternal City, Rome is the birthplace of the Roman Empire, one of the world's greatest civilizations ever.
Get some cultural insight at Museo Storico Piana delle Orme and Church of St. Louis of the French. You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Le Domus Romane di Palazzo Valentini and Via del Corso. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Rome: Parco Archeologico di Ostia Antica (in Ostia Antica) and Riva di Polline (in Trevignano Romano). There's lots more to do: pause for some serene contemplation at St. Clement Basilica, take a stroll through Via Condotti, stop by Elena Kihlman Designer Concept Store, and get some fabulous bargains at Castel Romano Designer Outlet.

If you are flying in from The Netherlands, the closest major aiports are Leonardo da Vinci–Fiumicino Airport, Ciampino–G. B. Pastine International Airport and Perugia San Francesco d'Assisi – Umbria International Airport. In February, daytime highs in Rome are 16°C, while nighttime lows are 5°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 13th (Mon) to allow enough time to travel back home.
