Eternal City

Aptly nicknamed the Eternal City, Rome is the birthplace of the Roman Empire, one of the world's greatest civilizations ever.
Get some cultural insight at Museo Storico Piana delle Orme and Parco Archeologico di Ostia Antica. You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Church of St. Louis of the French and St. Clement Basilica. Step out of Rome with an excursion to Riva di Polline in Trevignano Romano--about 48 minutes away. The adventure continues: take an in-depth tour of Le Domus Romane di Palazzo Valentini, get some fabulous bargains at Castel Romano Designer Outlet, steep yourself in history at Campo de' Fiori, and wander the streets of Via del Corso.

To see other places to visit, photos, more things to do, and tourist information, refer to the Rome trip builder.

If you are flying in from The Netherlands, the closest major aiports are Leonardo da Vinci–Fiumicino Airport, Ciampino–G. B. Pastine International Airport and Perugia San Francesco d'Assisi – Umbria International Airport. Expect a daytime high around 16°C in February, and nighttime lows around 5°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 13th (Mon) so you can travel back home.
