Eternal City

Aptly nicknamed the Eternal City, Rome is the birthplace of the Roman Empire, one of the world's greatest civilizations ever.
Get some cultural insight at Museo Storico Piana delle Orme and Via del Corso. You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Church of St. Louis of the French and Parco Archeologico di Ostia Antica. Step out of Rome with an excursion to Riva di Polline in Trevignano Romano--about 48 minutes away. There's lots more to do: take an in-depth tour of Le Domus Romane di Palazzo Valentini, revel in the low prices at Castel Romano Designer Outlet, steep yourself in history at Campo de' Fiori, and take in the architecture and atmosphere at St. Clement Basilica.

If you are flying in from The Netherlands, the closest major aiports are Leonardo da Vinci–Fiumicino Airport, Ciampino–G. B. Pastine International Airport and Perugia San Francesco d'Assisi – Umbria International Airport. In February, daytime highs in Rome are 16°C, while nighttime lows are 5°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 13th (Mon) to allow enough time to travel back home.
