Eternal City

Aptly nicknamed the Eternal City, Rome is the birthplace of the Roman Empire, one of the world's greatest civilizations ever.
Attractions like Colosseum and Palatine Hill make great kid-friendly stops. There's much more to do: ponder the design of Trevi Fountain, make a trip to St. Peter's Basilica, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Pantheon, and enjoy breathtaking views from Museo Nazionale di Castel Sant'Angelo.

If you are flying in from Portugal, the closest major aiports are Leonardo da Vinci–Fiumicino Airport, Ciampino–G. B. Pastine International Airport and Perugia San Francesco d'Assisi – Umbria International Airport. In November, daily temperatures in Rome can reach 20°C, while at night they dip to 9°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 5th (Mon) so you can travel back home.
