Eternal City

Aptly nicknamed the Eternal City, Rome is the birthplace of the Roman Empire, one of the world's greatest civilizations ever.
Attractions like Colosseum and Pantheon make great kid-friendly stops. Get some cultural insight at Vatican Museums and Palatine Hill. And it doesn't end there: take in the architecture and atmosphere at St. Peter's Basilica, enjoy breathtaking views from Museo Nazionale di Castel Sant'Angelo, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Chiesa di Sant'Ignazio di Loyola, and contemplate the long history of Roman Forum.

For more things to do, where to stay, maps, and tourist information, you can read our Rome trip itinerary builder tool.

Expect a daytime high around 28°C in May, and nighttime lows around 17°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 29th (Mon) early enough to travel back home.
