Aptly nicknamed the Eternal City, Rome is the birthplace of the Roman Empire, one of the world's greatest civilizations ever.
Your day-by-day itinerary now includes Monte Palatino, Arco di Costantino, Roman Forum, and other attractions you added. Basilica di San Pietro in Vincoli and Church of St. Louis of the French will appeal to history buffs. Step off the beaten path and head to Piazza Venezia and Moai Beach. Step out of Rome with an excursion to Acqua e Sale - Stabilimento Balneare in Maccarese--about 44 minutes away. It doesn't end there: contemplate the long history of Campo de' Fiori.

For more things to do, maps, ratings, and more tourist information, you can read our Rome route builder website.

If you are flying in from The Netherlands, the closest major aiports are Leonardo da Vinci–Fiumicino Airport and Ciampino–G. B. Pastine International Airport. In June, daily temperatures in Rome can reach 34°C, while at night they dip to 21°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 2nd (Sun) to allow enough time to take a train to Florence.
