Eternal City

Aptly nicknamed the Eternal City, Rome is the birthplace of the Roman Empire, one of the world's greatest civilizations ever.
Colosseum and St. Peter's Basilica are good opportunities to explore the local culture. You'll enjoy a bit of beach vacationing at Acqua e Sale - Stabilimento Balneare and V Lounge Beach Club. Change things up with a short trip to Point Break in Fregene (about 42 minutes away). The adventure continues: explore the world behind art at Vatican Museums, wander the streets of Via Condotti, steep yourself in history at Palatine Hill, and stop by Trastevere.

To find maps, where to stay, traveler tips, and other tourist information, refer to the Rome sightseeing site.

If you are flying in from United Kingdom, the closest major aiports are Leonardo da Vinci–Fiumicino Airport, Ciampino–G. B. Pastine International Airport and Perugia San Francesco d'Assisi – Umbria International Airport. In May in Rome, expect temperatures between 28°C during the day and 17°C at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 26th (Sat) to allow time to travel back home.
