Eternal City

Aptly nicknamed the Eternal City, Rome is the birthplace of the Roman Empire, one of the world's greatest civilizations ever.
Do some cultural sightseeing at Colosseum and Pantheon. Take a break from the city and head to Catacombs of Saint Callixtus and Colle del Gianicolo. Step out of Rome with an excursion to Villa Adriana in Tivoli--about 36 minutes away. There's much more to do: appreciate the extensive heritage of Piazza Navona, don't miss a visit to Via Condotti, wander the streets of Trastevere, and ponder the design of Trevi Fountain.

If you are flying in from United States, the closest major aiports are Leonardo da Vinci–Fiumicino Airport, Ciampino–G. B. Pastine International Airport and Perugia San Francesco d'Assisi – Umbria International Airport. In April, daytime highs in Rome are 69°F, while nighttime lows are 49°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 23rd (Tue) early enough to travel back home.
