Eternal City

Aptly nicknamed the Eternal City, Rome is the birthplace of the Roman Empire, one of the world's greatest civilizations ever.
Vatican Museums and Galleria Borghese will appeal to museum buffs. Family-friendly places like Colosseum and Piazza Navona will thrill your kids. Change things up with a short trip to Villa Adriana in Tivoli (about 36 minutes away). And it doesn't end there: wander the streets of Trastevere, contemplate the long history of Roman Forum, take in the exciting artwork at Trevimage, and pause for some serene contemplation at Santa Maria in Trastevere.

If you are flying in from United States, the closest major aiports are Leonardo da Vinci–Fiumicino Airport, Ciampino–G. B. Pastine International Airport and Perugia San Francesco d'Assisi – Umbria International Airport. In April in Rome, expect temperatures between 69°F during the day and 49°F at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 24th (Wed) to allow enough time to travel back home.
