Create an itinerary including Pilsner Urquell Brewery
Discover the birthplace of pilsner beer at Pilsner Urquell Brewery, located less than an hour southwest of Prague. Dating back to the 1840s, the brewery is the country's biggest exporter of domestically produced beer. Guided tours, the only way to enter the brewery, reveal the origins of the world-famous lager, produced for nearly 170 years using a recipe originally created by Bavarian master brewer Josef Groll. The tour offers you a chance to see the brewery's bottling plant and historical cellars, where you can taste unfiltered and unpasteurized pilsner beer poured from oak barrels. Check online for tour options and reserve your tickets by phone or e-mail. • Worth a visit. The guided tour is around 80minutes and very oriented on the history of the brewery. For the part under ground I’d recommend little warm clothes

  • My first visit to a brewery in Europe. A nice guided tour takes you through their underground network and they show you their history and how beer is made. They even give you a glass of beer to taste on the spot :)
  • Enthusiastic guide, was really nice that they provided a tour in English. Fascinating to see all the different parts of the brewery, and of course tasting the unfiltered beer. Na zdraví!
