  • Tommaso Gismondi The eldest of four brothers, Tommaso was born in Anagni in 1906 to Carlo Gismondi and Angela Ferretti, but moved as a boy with his family to Rome. After the war he went to Buenos Aires in Argentina, and then returned to his native Anagni in the late fifties. He became known as "the Pope's sculptor" for the works commissioned by Pope Paul VI and Pope John Paul II: some of his most famous works are the doors of the Vatican Library and the Vatican Secret Archive (1985), some bronzes of the basilica of San Pietro, the chair of John Paul II and the Via Crucis. He was also a valued draftsman of Vatican and Italian coins (from Wikipedia)
  • Beautiful permanent private exhibition in a fantastic period building in the historic center of Anagni. The master's granddaughter and her husband are affable people, very well prepared and in love with the works of the grandfather and mother. We had the honor of spending an hour in their company on Saturday 11 January 2019 and we admired the splendid works. We will certainly return to visit it. Massimo is Mirela. P. S.: we strongly recommend everyone to go and visit it.
