Located within a larger park commemorating the bombing of Hiroshima, Atomic Bomb Dome haunts with the memory of the lives lost during the attack. Now designated as a World Heritage Site, the former exhibition hall was the only building that remained standing near the bomb's hypocenter; today, it memorializes the 70,000 who perished immediately in the bombing, as well as the additional 70,000 who passed away from the bomb's aftereffects. Though you cannot enter the ruin, you can approach and circle the surrounding gate to see light flooding through the skeleton of the building. By using our Hiroshima trip planner, you can arrange your visit to Atomic Bomb Dome and other attractions in Hiroshima.

A somber place to see the remains of once devastation was poured out on this place. Be prepared to be reminded of the bomb that was dropped on humanity.

This is an incredibly harrowing and poignant place. It is almost the exact location of the detonation of the atomic bomb. It is amazing that they have preserved it and it is a must see if you are visiting Hiroshima.

A sad story happen here that first atomic bomb landed in thur beautiful and vibrant city. History tells us the cruelty of the war. The poor citizen would be suffering outweigh the pride ambitions and power hunger of the leader at that time. Killing 145k people with probably one 1 kg of the uranium ! This turns to be a memorial site that served as a reminder to many visitors and Japanese about the war. You can take pictures at all angles and explore the nearby park and museum. Beautiful day to visit during autumn where color of the maple leaves turn read. Peaceful place to walk at all seasons.
