  • Massive gallery with not a lot in it. Some very strange art - if that’s what you can call 49 dented tins on the floor. The best piece of art was an inflatable bunny in the foyer. Definitely not my...

  • We were disappointed in the major exhibit at the gallery which was a demonstration of pretentious art writing masquerading as quality criticism as the writers attempted to justify exhibiting torn...

  • It was my first ever visit to an Art Gallery. I got engrossed in one digital art at the ground floor and kept admiring it for atleast 15 minutes. I will definitely visit again. Worth a visit for someone who have never experienced.!
  • It always surprises me how few people attend this Gallery. The revolving exhibitions, (a wide variety) are often quite incredible. But, what will surprise people is the quality of the Gallery's personal collection, particularly for a small city in the deep south of New Zealand. It's an indication of the wealth that was once here and built this city. We may have only one example of a particular artist, (A Monet, a Lowry and a Machiavelli for instance) but there's also a number of very important New Zealand artists... There's definitely a good use of 2 hours to be had here...
