Te Puia
Take a guided tour of the thermal geysers at Te Puia, Rotorua's undisputed star attraction. A short ride south of the city center, this thermal reserve features over 500 hot springs. The most famous of the many geysers is the aptly named Big Splash, erupting at least two dozen times a day and spouting water as high as 30 m (98 ft) into the air. Other highlights include regular cultural performances and popular hangi feasts, allowing visitors to experience the local cuisine. Don't miss the carving and weaving schools, where you can learn about the traditional methods of Maori artisans. Excellent and interesting experience seeing the geysers and the mud pool. Kiwi sanctuary also great. Really enjoyed the Maori art and seeing the artists work in their studios. Highly recommend this.

Amazing couple days spent here! The guided tour is a must if you get here. Very informative and interactive. Had me smiling on a rainy day. The schools were definitely the highlight as well as the special surprise at the end!! Geysers are impressive even with it bucketing down

Well worth the stop. It was cool to see the kiwi in action and the active geysers in action. The wife got to see her "plop plops" (mud pools) in action. Definitely recommend checking it out.
