Named in honor of its rice milling heritage ("khaosan" means milled rice), nowadays this relatively small stretch caters mainly to backpackers, with a range of accommodations, travel agents, and bars. Always a fun and crazy place. Filled with tourist and some locals. Everyone is here for a good time. The music is crazy loud and tons of bars offering balloons. Better with groups.
