Onomichi — 5 nights

A port city next to the inland sea, Onomichi maintains a small-town feel and a domestic reputation for well-preserved landmarks, quiet streets, and traditions.Your inner history buff will appreciate Takehara Townscape Preservation Area and Tomo no Ura. You'll discover tucked-away gems like Hirayama Ikuo Museum of Art and Tenneiji Temple. Get out of town with these interesting Onomichi side-trips: Fukuyama (Fukuyama Castle & Sensui Island) and Okunoshima Island (in Takehara). You can take a train from Onomichi to Hiroshima in 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive. In March in Hiroshima, expect temperatures between 16°C during the day and 6°C at night. On the 20th (Mon), wrap the sightseeing up by early afternoon so you can travel back home.
