Rome — 11 nights

Eternal City

Aptly nicknamed the Eternal City, Rome is the birthplace of the Roman Empire, one of the world's greatest civilizations ever.
Explore hidden gems such as Villa d'Este and Cascata delle Marmore. Colosseum and Piazza Navona are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Get out of town with these interesting Rome side-trips: Parco Archeologico di Ostia Antica (in Ostia Antica), Villa Adriana (in Tivoli) and Orvieto (Pozzo di San Patrizio & Duomo di Orvieto). There's much more to do: admire the masterpieces at Vatican Museums, steep yourself in history at St. Peter's Basilica, get engrossed in the history at Le Domus Romane di Palazzo Valentini, and take in the spiritual surroundings of Basilica di Santa Rita.

To find more things to do, photos, maps, and other tourist information, go to the Rome trip planning app.

If you are flying in from Brazil, the closest major aiports are Leonardo da Vinci–Fiumicino Airport, Ciampino–G. B. Pastine International Airport and Perugia San Francesco d'Assisi – Umbria International Airport. In July in Rome, expect temperatures between 37°C during the day and 24°C at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 1st (Wed) so you can travel back home.
