Rome — 11 nights

Aptly nicknamed the Eternal City, Rome is the birthplace of the Roman Empire, one of the world's greatest civilizations ever.
Explore hidden gems such as Villa d'Este and Parco Archeologico di Ostia Antica. Colosseum and St. Peter's Basilica are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Get out of town with these interesting Rome side-trips: Villa Adriana (in Tivoli), Orvieto (Pozzo di San Patrizio & Duomo di Orvieto) and Cascata delle Marmore (in Marmore). There's much more to do: explore the ancient world of Pantheon, steep yourself in history at Palatine Hill, make a trip to Piazza Venezia, and take in the spiritual surroundings of Basilica di Santa Rita.

To find more things to do, photos, maps, and other tourist information, go to the Rome trip planning app.

If you are flying in from Brazil, the closest major aiports are Leonardo da Vinci–Fiumicino Airport, Ciampino–G. B. Pastine International Airport and Perugia San Francesco d'Assisi – Umbria International Airport. In July in Rome, expect temperatures between 37°C during the day and 24°C at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 1st (Wed) so you can travel back home.
