The capital of the Philippines and the "Pearl of the Orient," Manila truly resembles a gem: rough on the outside, but glittering within.
Take a break from the city and head to OceanZoneExplorers and Daranak Falls. Get some historical perspective at Intramuros and St Vincent de Paul Parish Church. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Manila: Resorts World Manila (in Pasay), Makati (Greenbelt Mall, Ayala Museum Artist Space, &more) and Manila American Cemetery and Memorial (in Taguig City). One of east Asia's major cultural and financial centers, Seoul boasts five World Heritage Sites and a huge selection of museums, temples, shrines, palaces, parks, gardens, and glass-and-steel skyscrapers.
Gyeongbokgung Palace and Myeongdong Shopping Street are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Do your shopping at Namdaemun Market and Goguan Hanbok Photo-Studio Insadong. Explore the numerous day-trip ideas around Seoul: Nami Island (in Chuncheon), Suwon (Hwaseong Haenggung Palace & Hwaseong Fortress) and Korea National Arboretum (in Pocheon).
