Eternal City

Aptly nicknamed the Eternal City, Rome is the birthplace of the Roman Empire, one of the world's greatest civilizations ever.
Rome is known for historic sites, sightseeing, and nightlife. Your trip includes some of its best attractions: steep yourself in history at St. Peter's Basilica, make a trip to Spanish Steps, admire the local landmark of Trevi Fountain, and take in the architecture and atmosphere at Pantheon.

For reviews, traveler tips, photos, and other tourist information, refer to the Rome attractions planner.

If you are flying in from United Kingdom, the closest major aiports are Leonardo da Vinci–Fiumicino Airport, Ciampino–G. B. Pastine International Airport and Perugia San Francesco d'Assisi – Umbria International Airport. In December in Rome, expect temperatures between 16°C during the day and 4°C at night. Cap off your sightseeing on the 2nd (Tue) early enough to travel back home.
