Eternal City

Aptly nicknamed the Eternal City, Rome is the birthplace of the Roman Empire, one of the world's greatest civilizations ever.
Get some cultural insight at Colosseum and Piazza Navona. Vatican Museums and Musei Capitolini will appeal to museum buffs. Take a break from Rome with a short trip to Villa Adriana in Tivoli, about 36 minutes away. Next up on the itinerary: steep yourself in history at Palatine Hill, admire the landmark architecture of Sistine Chapel, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Pantheon, and admire the local landmark of Trevi Fountain.

If you are flying in from Ireland, the closest major aiports are Leonardo da Vinci–Fiumicino Airport, Ciampino–G. B. Pastine International Airport and Perugia San Francesco d'Assisi – Umbria International Airport. In October, plan for daily highs up to 26°C, and evening lows to 15°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 3rd (Fri) so you can travel back home.
