Rome — 3 nights

Eternal City

Aptly nicknamed the Eternal City, Rome is the birthplace of the Roman Empire, one of the world's greatest civilizations ever.
Attractions like Colosseum and Pantheon make great kid-friendly stops. Get some cultural insight at Vatican Museums and Palatine Hill. There's much more to do: steep yourself in history at St. Peter's Basilica, enjoy breathtaking views from Museo Nazionale di Castel Sant'Angelo, pause for some serene contemplation at Chiesa di Sant'Ignazio di Loyola, and make a trip to Roman Forum.

Expect a daytime high around 28°C in May, and nighttime lows around 17°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 29th (Mon) so you can travel back home.
