Rome — 3 nights

Eternal City

Aptly nicknamed the Eternal City, Rome is the birthplace of the Roman Empire, one of the world's greatest civilizations ever.
Your itinerary includes some good beach time at Acqua e Sale - Stabilimento Balneare and V Lounge Beach Club. Get in touch with nature at Riserva Naturale Monte Soratte and Antica Torre - Riding Ancient Rome. There's much more to do: take in the architecture and atmosphere at St. Peter's Basilica, learn about wildlife with up-close encounters at Bioparco di Roma, make a trip to Trevi Fountain, and see some colorful creatures with a scuba or snorkeling tour.

For reviews, where to stay, maps, and other tourist information, you can read our Rome itinerary builder.

If you are flying in from United Kingdom, the closest major aiports are Leonardo da Vinci–Fiumicino Airport, Ciampino–G. B. Pastine International Airport and Perugia San Francesco d'Assisi – Umbria International Airport. Expect a daytime high around 15°C in January, and nighttime lows around 4°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 30th (Mon) early enough to travel back home.
