Rome — 4 nights

Eternal City

Aptly nicknamed the Eternal City, Rome is the birthplace of the Roman Empire, one of the world's greatest civilizations ever.
Attractions like Colosseum and Trevi Fountain make great kid-friendly stops. There's lots more to do: steep yourself in history at St. Peter's Basilica, get to know the fascinating history of Piazza Navona, make a trip to Roman Forum, and explore the ancient world of Palatine Hill.

For where to stay, maps, reviews, and more tourist information, refer to the Rome tour itinerary planner.

If you are flying in from Belgium, the closest major aiports are Leonardo da Vinci–Fiumicino Airport, Ciampino–G. B. Pastine International Airport and Perugia San Francesco d'Assisi – Umbria International Airport. Expect a daytime high around 38°C in August, and nighttime lows around 24°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 18th (Fri) so you can travel back home.
