Rome — 5 nights

Eternal City

Aptly nicknamed the Eternal City, Rome is the birthplace of the Roman Empire, one of the world's greatest civilizations ever.
Get outdoors at Cascata delle Marmore and Acquazzurra. Explore hidden gems such as Duomo di Orvieto and I Colori di Dentro di Maria Grazia Luffarelli. Change things up with these side-trips from Rome: Civita di Bagnoregio (in Bagnoregio) and Umbria Outdoor (in Piediluco). There's much more to do: contemplate the long history of Palatine Hill, don't miss a visit to St. Peter's Basilica, take in the exciting artwork at Trevimage, and admire the striking features of Pantheon.

To see photos, where to stay, other places to visit, and more tourist information, refer to the Rome route maker website.

In March, plan for daily highs up to 19°C, and evening lows to 8°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 4th (Thu) to allow time to travel back home.
