Rome — 5 nights

Eternal City

Aptly nicknamed the Eternal City, Rome is the birthplace of the Roman Empire, one of the world's greatest civilizations ever.
Family-friendly places like Colosseum and Palatine Hill will thrill your kids. Step out of Rome to go to Tivoli and see Villa d'Este, which is approximately 48 minutes away. There's still lots to do: explore the ancient world of Pantheon, make a trip to Spanish Steps, explore the different monuments and memorials at Catacombs of Saint Callixtus, and admire the local landmark of Trevi Fountain.

To find other places to visit, maps, photos, and other tourist information, refer to the Rome trip itinerary builder site.

In April, daily temperatures in Rome can reach 24°C, while at night they dip to 11°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 23rd (Tue) so you can travel back home.
