Rome — 5 nights
Eternal City
Aptly nicknamed the Eternal City, Rome is the birthplace of the Roman Empire, one of the world's greatest civilizations ever.Your itinerary includes some good beach time at V Lounge Beach Club and Bau Beach. Step off the beaten path and head to Acqua e Sale - Stabilimento Balneare and Sabbianera Super Beach. Change things up with these side-trips from Rome: Duomo di Orvieto (in Orvieto), Cascata delle Marmore (in Marmore) and Spiaggia di Torre Paola (in Sabaudia). There's lots more to do: kick back and relax at Lido Riviera, admire the natural beauty at Villa d'Este, contemplate the long history of Campo de' Fiori, and get active on the water at Point Break.
To see maps, reviews, other places to visit, and tourist information, go to the Rome day trip tool.
If you are flying in from United States, the closest major aiports are Leonardo da Vinci–Fiumicino Airport, Ciampino–G. B. Pastine International Airport and Perugia San Francesco d'Assisi – Umbria International Airport. In August in Rome, expect temperatures between 90°F during the day and 69°F at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 6th (Mon) so you can travel back home.
