Rome — 7 nights

Aptly nicknamed the Eternal City, Rome is the birthplace of the Roman Empire, one of the world's greatest civilizations ever.
Do some cultural sightseeing at Colosseum and St. Peter's Basilica. Take a break from the city and head to Catacombs of Saint Callixtus and Colle del Gianicolo. Step out of Rome with an excursion to Villa Adriana in Tivoli--about 36 minutes away. There's lots more to do: admire the masterpieces at Vatican Museums, make a trip to Via Condotti, explore the ancient world of Pantheon, and appreciate the extensive heritage of Piazza Navona.
