Built in 1907 on the edge of a steep hill in the downtown waterfront area, Pike Place Market remains one of the country's oldest continuously operating public farmers' markets. A regular place of business for local farmers, craftspeople, and merchants, the market also ranks as one of the city's top tourist attractions. Consisting of a main level and several lower sections, the market features a range of flower stalls, comic-book stores, antiques shops, and family-owned restaurants. Before you explore the areas below street level, visit the main market's fresh produce and fish stalls. Access the market by car, public bus, or streetcar. • There’s something for everyone here, and there are no big box stores or chain restaurants which I really like. The very first Starbucks ever was here…so there is that. There is this crazy outdoor...

  • This is a must do attraction and worth the crowds and lines. We went on a Saturday when there was absolutely beautiful weather which made for a busy market day. The variety of the shops and food...

  • Fabulous experience! A must do for any traveler if you are visiting Seattle. There are so many places to eat, all kinds of variety of foods, great shopping, and flowers galore. The pier out back has a great view and lots of seating. Live music was incredible. The fish toss was cool and unique. Expect huge crowd on weekends.
  • Cool experience! We arrived after everything was shut down and it was very cool to see from that perspective with virtually no one around. We return the next day to the hustle and bustle of the crowds, the smell of seafood, the fresh fruits and vegetables, all the vendors with their goods, and food booths The flowers were absolutely stunning throughout the market, I wanted to buy them all!
